Amazing spot for sushi! Probably the best sushi in Phoenix in all honesty. I typically come here at least once a week for lunch since I work in the area and their lunch specials are a fair price for what you get (ranges from $11-$13). They make their sushi with purple rice rather than traditional white rice which the purple rice is actually a lot healthier so don't be afraid of how it looks - it tastes the same
Staff: Super friendly and welcoming! We always get greeted once we walk in and I appreciate that kindness. They're also always attentive to make sure you're taken care of.
Tip: If you're in a rush, they have pre-made sushi if you don't have time to dine in or if the restaurant is packed. Their pre-made sushi options are made fresh that day and taste the same - delicious! -

Nothing special. Small hole in the wall spot. Semi clean.
Friendly staff and good customer service.
Food wasn't anything to write home about. I'm not sure why it was rated so highly on YELP other than it's downtown. Disappointed...
Decided to try the "choose your three" mini rolls in case it was terrible.
Had the: mini versions
Arizona Roll
Dynamite Roll
Spider Roll
All the rolls are made with the purple rice which tasted ok but the all the rolls were lack luster. Lacking texture, complex flavors or sauce. The rolls weren't terrible but they aren't worth mentioning.
The quick and friendly service made up for the food. -

This place is PHENOMENAL. I stopped by for a quick lunch during the week and was worried I might be cutting my lunch hour close; that was not the case.
We were served right away and the quality was beyond what I was expecting.
For starters, the rice is purple! How fun is that.. their lunch specials give you two rolls of ample size and excellent price.
Every bite I took I felt a burst of flavor from the sauces, and the fish.
I would highly recommend people check this out. Full five stars -

Great sushi find in the downtown Phoenix area! A coworker recommended this place for its fresh cuts of fish despite the casual atmosphere. I ordered the omakase (chefs choice) which came with 2 spicy tuna, yellowtail, ahi, shrimp, scallops, salmon, eel nigiri (with the black/purple rice) and 4 slices of toro! It definitely satisfied my sushi cravings and true to the recommendations, the fish was certainly very fresh and delicious! The service was very fast and friendly. I definitely recommend Harumi for anyone looking for some mighty fine sushi in Phoenix!!

I guess to not be a jerk I'll give this 3 stars because I'm sure they're nice people and they're trying to run a business. How this was voted best sushi in Phoenix...I don't know. Is this California snobbery? Perhaps, or maybe it's just hard to get good fish in AZ. The "black rice" which appears to be a thing here was dry in addition to the menu selection being somewhat limited and "ehh." (Your table has a "menu" where you check boxes for your selection). This probably hits the spot for the local business lunch crowd but for traveling food bloggers who live in a coastal state not
